The 94 Porsche 964 Turbo S Flachbau was to be the last of the truly hand built Porsche 911 production cars. Porsche’s Exclusive division started life as the Sonderwunsch or Special Wish department under the direction of Rolf Sprenger. It was established in response to a growing number of requests for highly customized vehicles; Porsche had indulged only a tiny number of their best VIP clients.

Porsche's Exclusive division introduced unique features to the 76 units of the Flachbau model, with only 39 making it to the US market. These variations featured hand-crafted and highly costly X85 "Flat-Nose" bodywork. The package cars were equipped with the X92, which included a distinctive front air-splitter lip spoiler with body-colored intakes (replacing fog lights) to direct fresh air to the oil cooler and brakes.

The 964 Turbo S Flachbau was also fitted with the X88 engine option. The Power Kit comprised a special Type M64/50S engine that came with uprated cylinder head inlet and exhaust ports, a modified inlet manifold and spacer flanges, high-lift camshafts, which increased power to 385 horsepower.
